What to Wear......in the Fall
  I hate to think of summer coming to an end but I do get excited with each season change.  Fall is such a great time of year and the color changes are amazing!  If you are planning a photo session for the fall, think of the colors that the leaves change into: shades of red, orange, yellow, green and purple and let this be your inspiraton, and then add layers and detail.  If you need some visual examples look below for some amazing looks!  I hope this gives you some ideas....

What to wear....What to wear???

It is the time of year for family and kids sessions, and this is one of the questions that I get asked the most. I find it difficult to describe specific clothing over the phone and since I am much more of a visual person, I thought I would try to give some suggestions. I love this look for this time of year because it is great for the end of the summer and as we transition into cooler weather. I am not suggesting that you copy this exact look but I am hoping that it will inspire you. Maybe you will love the color scheme or the layering look or how you can mix pants and skirts or maybe it is an accessory that you love. I hope this helps.

Glenn + Abby {Maternity}

To say that the weather was a little unpredicatable this spring, I think describes things quite well, and the day that met up with Glenn & Abby for a maternity session was no exception. We actually met in Grand Rapids about an hour earlier than what we had planned on because I knew that rain was on the way. We did not waste anytime with pictures either because a few rain drops were falling from the sky, off and on, the whole time. The lighting was beautiful though and Glenn and Abby were amazing. So when my cousin called me up and said that he wanted to surpise his wife with a maternity/family session as her gift for Mother's Day, I was thrilled! They are such an amazing couple and their kids are adorable. Here are a few of my favorites...

Nick + Liz {Wedding}

When I first met Nick and Liz to do their engagment pictures, I had a feeling that when it came time for their wedding, that it was going to be stunning. When I got to the church the morning of the wedding, the church and the reception area were abolutely beautiful. Liz's attention to detail was amazing - old windows and jars, beautiful flowers the vintage suitcase, tile magnets as favors on the tables. These were just some of the details that gave the whole place a wonderful vintage feel. The other amazing factor was that all the wonderful decorations, flowers and favors were done by Liz, her mother and other family members and friends.
There was nother factor that made the day interesting and that was the weather. It rained the night before, it rained that morning, it sprinkled off and on while I was doing detail shots and then when we got to the park the sun came out! We had a few hours of beautiful weather and as we were finishing up the last bridal party picture, the rain started again. Considering the fact that I was prepared for rain the entire day, I was thrilled that we had enough time to photograph Nick, Liz and their bridal party.
